Discover the beauty of Paros

Located in the heart of the Aegean Sea, Paros is known since antiquity for its fine white marble that was preferred by the Greek sculptors for its translucency and great texture. Some of the greatest masterpieces of ancient Greek sculpture, like Niki of Samothrace, Venus de Milo and Hermes of Praxiteles, were carved from Parian marble which has been quarried at sites near the village of Marathi.

Today, Paros is still a place of alluring beauty and one of the most popular Cycladic islands. Its lovely beaches with golden sand and crystal clear waters and its traditional, picturesque villages make this island one of the most popular summer destinations.

Explore Parikia, the capital of the island that will fascinate you with its whitewashed cubic houses and its impressive monuments—like the imposing church of Panagia Ekatontapiliani and the Frankish Castle standing atop a hill at the center of the village. Naoussa, Lefkes, Marpissa and Prodromos are also must-visit villages.
